Print Design + Editorial Design

PROJECT PARTNER: Sanjana Vamadevan

PROJECT GUIDE: Tarun Deep Girdher

at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

2018

'Printism' is an NID Print Labs Initiative that is focussed towards promoting analog printing processes and creating a community in NID that engages in creating with the various printing facilities provided in the Print Labs.

These two postcards were made as promotional material for 'Printism'. Out of the various printing processes available for use, we employed linoleum relief printing and letterpress to design the following two postcards.

Test prints were taken before the master was transferred to the letterpress machine.

The sheets were left to dry overnight between every layer of printing.

POSTCARD 2

The 'PRINTISM' text was laser cut out of MDF board for maximum accuracy as the stems of the letters had to be relatively much thinner to achieve the result we were looking for.
